Stock Markets - The beginning.

Don't be confused by the title - it just means that it's my initial post on Stock Markets. Mathematics was/is my favorite subject and Probabilities and possibilities - my favorite theme. Given that, there is not much surprise that I got interested in Stock Market once I started to follow it.

I would rate myself as a beginner to this field. And with the little knowledge I've, let me tell you, this is one field - like music - where achieving mastery is almost impossible. There is so much to learn and understand irrespective of how long you been to it.

Why do it excite me ? You could get countless data for any company that you would like and still you can't predict the price of it the next day. There are so many so called experts and analysts in the market. Just ask them one single simple question, "Will the market go up or down tomorrow" ? If you find anyone who could predict that right - do let me know. This unpredictability of the market irrespective of how much you learn and understand - really fascinates me...

Let me conclude this post with a quote from a legendary investor whom I admire so very much - yes, Warren Buffett.

"There are only two rules in the stock market.
1. Don't lose your money.
2. Never forget rule 1."

  1. i can easily say one additional rule.. if the points have shot up by a great margin, its gonna come down to a stable level within next few days... :P

  2. Well, not always - but, yes, most of the times. Just like there are times when we get carried away by emotions and then we realize n return to a more stable level after some time. I guess, Stock market also follows that - after all, buys/sells are more dictated by emotions rather than intelligence, na ? :p But good observation, I'll keep that in my mind. :p

Don't be suprised, just watched the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" and I'm way too carried away by the emotions. Cried my heart out towards the ending of the movie. What a wonderful movie!!!Definitely goes to my favorites list. :p
